How to Apply: Procedures

Obtain Candidate Handbook:

To apply, you will first need to obtain a copy of the Candidate Handbook. The Candidate Handbook may be downloaded at http://www.ptcny.com/ or here. Simply click on the list of programs under test information and select the ARC Examination in Aromatherapy. The option to download the handbook is towards the bottom of this information along with the option to have the handbook mailed to you.

Ensure you meet the eligibility requirements. These are outlined in the candidate handbook and are reproduced here for convenience:

ELIGIBILITY FOR THE REGISTRATION EXAMINATION

1. The ARC Registration Examination in Aromatherapy is open to anyone who has completed a minimum of a one year Level 2 program in aromatherapy from a college or school that is in compliance with the current NAHA Educational Guidelines or anyone who could provide evidence of equivalent training (transcripts must be enclosed with Application).

2. Agreement to adhere to the Disciplinary Policy.

3. Completion and filing of Application for ARC Registration Examination in Aromatherapy.

4. Payment of required fees.

Complete and Mail Application to PTC or Complete Online:

Mail your application to PTC or complete your application online.

PTC Will Contact You:

PTC will contact you if your application to sit the exam is accepted with details of your examination center.

Sit Examination as Instructed

Take your examination on the appointed day at the examination center (there are 30 locations across the USA and Canada, with special testing facilities available on request for an additional fee. PTC can provide further details on this option.)

Grading:

Your examination will be returned to PTC for grading. Once your paper is graded, PTC notify the ARC of the successful candidates. Registration Certificates are prepared and the Register is updated . This process can take 4 to 6 weeks.

Notification:

Notification of your results and your Registration packet, if applicable, is mailed to you.

Register Listing

If you have successful passed the exam, please email the ARC to confirm the details you would like listed on the Register. If we do not hear from you, we will list your name and address. You may also add your telephone number, email, and website address.
